Pearls and studs
Concept to reality! (Taken with Instagram)
Sometimes the best ideas and designs come from the heart of necessity. I was heading out to a birthday party one afternoon and realized I didn’t have anything to accessorize my outfit with. I always have scraps of leather and materials lying around from making my handbags, so I decided to put something together quickly. Out of this need was born the Mae Linnaea leather cuff! I fashioned for myself a wide leather cuff made of dark grey leather and backed with a soft mauve grosgrain ribbon. I appliqued some lace scraps onto the leather and added some metal studs for an edgy detail. I absolutely love this piece and wear it all the time. I’ve received so many compliments on it, I decided to start making them to sell! Above are some examples of the first pieces available. You can find some on my Etsy site here!
My first blog feature showcasing the above clutch, and I’m a little over-excited! Check it out!

Sometimes a friend can make a really good suggestion to try something new… experimenting with using chain on my clutches thanks to my good friend who writes the blog Shopahillic (http://blogspot.shopahillic.com). Loving how this came out…
A good example of concept to reality… lately I’ve been missing projects like my senior collection. I’m thinking some new summer dresses are next up for my list of sewing projects.
